Celebrity Stylist

On March 29th, the Martionii Black Label shot its innovative styling TV show. In a particularly poignant scene, designer Martionii used household items to create living sculptures. Martionii wrapped various plastic products around the shows host and a model. Martionii wished to convey the danger of plastics to his audience. Martionii noted that, "I did these as an art form; the plastic symbolizes death. The plastic kills all natural living things; it stops the pores from breathing." Individuals who are wrapped entirely in plastic will die. By wrapping household products and caution tape around his models, Martionii was able to convey that it is important to shop with caution. The designer noted that individuals should be careful when buying garments from Forever 21, H&M, Robert Rodriguez, Wal-Mart and Target. These major retailers all use polyester during garment construction. Most consumers are familiar with polyester, but do not know that it is a petroleum product made from plastic and raw oil. Given the facts, why would consumers want to put such materials on their bodies? Martionii also wrapped the mouths of his models. By wrapping the mouths, he was able to convey the silence with which consumers continue to buy such products. By buying items made from polyester, they are both harming the environment and endangering their health. Even more, the majority of these garments are produced in China. China is the number one polluter in the world; the country has very few laws regulating production and manufacturing. If the consumer continues purchasing without taking social responsibility, what kind of world will be left for his or her children? Thankfully, there are simple solutions to this problem. Consumers who cant afford to purchase all-natural clothing made in countries with strong environmental regulations can visit clothing exchanges and second hand stores. Buffalo Exchange and The Closet are excellent examples of clothing recycling. Consumers can be fashionable and have a positive impact on the environment. The Martionii Black Label philosophy is to make women feel sexy and look glamorous -- why not? When wearing MBL, women adorn their bodies in the very best fabrics available. All of our fabrics are 100 percent natural, with all clothing designs constructed in the U.S. We put time and effort into constructing high-quality clothing. At MBL, we are proud to take social responsibility and to make strides towards protecting our planet. The demonstration described above was harmless for our models, as it took only a few seconds to complete.
